Opera Mini 4.1

Opera Mini 4.1 finally released. Yesterday I’ve installed it and try it myself in my mobile phone. The feature itself is quite the same between the beta version and the final version, but there are some useful features in Opera Mini 4.1 compared to the previous version of Opera Mini 4.
1. Opera claims that Opera Mini is now up to 50% faster, since they have already upgraded their servers.
2. You can find some text in a web page faster. This is a new feature in Opera Mini. This feature allows you to jump from one searched text to another one without the need to scrolling the entire page to find just one text.
3. Auto complete feature when you type your URL in Opera Mini. Using this feature, you can go to your destination website faster. This feature is reading from your collection of bookmarks and history to determine the prediction input.
4. On phones with JSR-75, Opera Mini 4.1 lets you save pages for offline viewing so you can quickly access and read your desired Web content.
5. On phones with JSR-75, you can now upload and download files using Opera Mini 4.1, without being re-routed to your phone’s native browser.
6. Now you can view the page in landscape mode in Opera Mini 4.1. You can activate the feature from the setting menu, or using a shortcut.
7. Opera Mini has included CSS support, so you can view the web page better.
Although there are some quite interesting feature in version 4.1, but still there are some bugs in it. I found many in this blog commenting about the bug found in this version. But still, having Opera Mini installed in my mobile phone is much better than not having it :) You can download Opera Mini directly from the site here.

With a lot of functionality like this, I supposed it will be very useful for me. But lately, I think it has some defect, maybe it’s because of the software. The defect goes like this, sometimes it can’t open a text message (sms), it’s said that “opening message failed” and I can’t read the new message at all, and I don’t know who’s the sender, what is the message, etc. It’s kind of annoying if the message is an important one. So, I’ve decided to upgrade the software version of this phone, maybe it will solve the problem, or not haha… at least I try it anyway. Let me tell you the updating process and result in the next post.
