Opera Mini 4.1 finally released. Yesterday I’ve installed it and try it myself in my mobile phone. The feature itself is quite the same between the beta version and the final version, but there are some useful features in Opera Mini 4.1 compared to the previous version of Opera Mini 4.
1. Opera claims that Opera Mini is now up to 50% faster, since they have already upgraded their servers.
2. You can find some text in a web page faster. This is a new feature in Opera Mini. This feature allows you to jump from one searched text to another one without the need to scrolling the entire page to find just one text.
3. Auto complete feature when you type your URL in Opera Mini. Using this feature, you can go to your destination website faster. This feature is reading from your collection of bookmarks and history to determine the prediction input.
4. On phones with JSR-75, Opera Mini 4.1 lets you save pages for offline viewing so you can quickly access and read your desired Web content.
5. On phones with JSR-75, you can now upload and download files using Opera Mini 4.1, without being re-routed to your phone’s native browser.
6. Now you can view the page in landscape mode in Opera Mini 4.1. You can activate the feature from the setting menu, or using a shortcut.
7. Opera Mini has included CSS support, so you can view the web page better.
Although there are some quite interesting feature in version 4.1, but still there are some bugs in it. I found many in this blog commenting about the bug found in this version. But still, having Opera Mini installed in my mobile phone is much better than not having it
You can download Opera Mini directly from the site here.

Software update
Hahhh.. i give up using Sony Ericsson Update Service (SEUS), I don’t know what’s wrong with this tool, but I can’t update my firmware, maybe I should just bring my phone to SE service center hehe.. Anyway, next post I want to review a mobile phone software. I think that would be nice hehe..
The firmware update -cont.
I’ve already brought my phone into my campus, but somehow the update software says it can’t connect to the server. Well, I don’t know what was wrong anyway. However, my friend told me about his version of flashing a Sony Ericsson firmware. He said that he can flash the firmware of his phone (K type) into other type (with W type firmware version). He said that the new firmware will improve some of the functionality of his phone (sound and camera, according to him). Well, I said to myself, maybe it is a good idea to update my firmware using his method. His method is not using an official update software from Sony Ericsson, but some other third party program. I think I’m gonna collect some information first about this kind of firmware updating, and next I have to choose whether I’m gonna use this way of updating or not.
SE Z530i firmware update requirements
I’ve already bought Sony Ericsson data cable for my phone in Bandung Electronic Center, DCU-60. And right now I’ve already downloaded the updating software from Sony Ericsson website. I think everything is quite ready now, but of course to update the phone software/firmware, the updating software needs connection to the Internet. At first, after install the updating software, it will download the updated version of the software, and then after that it will check the phone version and download the newest version of the phone firmware. For your information, I’m using the phone as a modem to connect to the Internet, and the first download is fine, but the second download for the updated firmware can’t be done by using the phone as a modem, so.. unfortunately, I have to find another computer that connects to the Internet, and then use that computer to update my phone firmware. Maybe I’ll use a computer in my campus to update my phone firmware. I hope the updating process will going on smoothly.
My phone is Sony Ericsson
My phone type is Sony Ericsson Z530i. At first, actually it’s not my phone, it’s my sister’s but we decided to swap our phones hehe… At first, it’s kind of awkward to use it, because my previous phone type is Nokia, but eventually I get used to it. With a lot of functionality like this, I supposed it will be very useful for me. But lately, I think it has some defect, maybe it’s because of the software. The defect goes like this, sometimes it can’t open a text message (sms), it’s said that “opening message failed” and I can’t read the new message at all, and I don’t know who’s the sender, what is the message, etc. It’s kind of annoying if the message is an important one. So, I’ve decided to upgrade the software version of this phone, maybe it will solve the problem, or not haha… at least I try it anyway. Let me tell you the updating process and result in the next post.
First posting
This is my first posting, and especially for this blog, i want to use English in this blog. Actually, I’m still not used to it, but I think there’s an old saying that “practice makes perfect”. First target is creating a list of categories, and then try to raise my blog page rank. Actually the other reason why I used English is that I want to try something in the internet, trying to make some money out of blogging if you can say hehe.. but I’m still a newbie after all, and this blog is my a tool for getting experiences
Nah, you see that my English is kind of sucks, especially with the grammar. But, I still hope for the best for this blog in the next month or two. Wish me luck!!
